Mini Golf Tournaments at Gregor MacGregor’s

Putt Like a Pro on Amelia Island

Perfect those putting skills–it’s time to win some cash and, more importantly, bragging rights at Gregor MacGregor’s Mini Links & Drinks.

Our friends at MacGregor’s Mini Links love good competition. Their monthly tournaments are a must-do for locals and visitors to Amelia Island alike. The format is simple: all competitors play a round and the lowest score is crowned the winner. If there are any ties for first place, we’ll proceed to a winner-take-all playoff! It sounds silly, but we’ve seen playoffs lead to some epic moments on the mini golf course. In fact, the inaugural MacGregor’s Masters in 2023 was won on a walk-off hole-in-one on the 18th hole.

Note: our four “major” tournaments will take place instead of our monthly tournaments during the summer!

MacGregor’s Masters

We began our season with an homage to one of the most storied tournaments in the world. First held in 1934, the Masters Tournament has been played annually at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia–with the exception of 1943-45 due to World War II.

We were pleased as Azalea Punch that our flowers bloomed and our greens were rolling as fast as Augusta during the 2nd Annual MacGregor’s Masters on Saturday, April 13th. The competition was fierce, but Casey McNeill emerged victorious to claim the second-ever Green Windbreaker.

There is also some epic merchandise from the event still available for purchase, including hats and polos, at the snack bar.

MacGregor’s Championship

Our second tournament will be timed for the PGA Championship on Saturday, May 18th. While the big boys move from Augusta National to Valhalla, we’re sticking right here at the mini links. Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Unfortunately, Scottie Scheffler will not be making an appearance at the MacGregor’s Championship, but with the way he’s been striking the ball lately, that’s good news for our competitors.

MacGregor’s Open

In July, it’s on to the MacGregor’s Open on Saturday, June 15th, the weekend of Father’s Day. Wouldn’t it be a nice present for Dad if you could split your winnings with him? The rules are the same as the previous two events with all players completing a single stroke-play round to determine a winner.

Just like our other tournaments, the MacGregor’s Open is open to everyone–no age or skill restrictions. There’s also no need to sign up in advance, or bring any equipment! We all use the same putters and golf balls in order to ensure a level playing field. Our only advice is to come with a positive attitude and a pair of comfortable shoes.

MacGregor’s Open Championship

The final tournament this summer will be held on Saturday, July 20th. By now, everyone will have gotten more than a little practice in and we’re expecting this to be the toughest tournament all year long.

Will there be any repeat champions?

How big will the cash prize get?

What will be the lowest score of all the tournaments?

We can’t wait to find out. See you this summer for some major action on the mini links!
