An Eclectic Food Scene in Northeast Florida
Fernandina Beach sits on Amelia Island in Northeast Florida and is known for its historic downtown and beautiful beaches. But it’s also a great place for food lovers. You can enjoy everything from fancy oceanfront dining to casual downtown spots serving local shrimp and seafood. Since the town started as a shrimping village, you’ll find fresh seafood everywhere, from simple baskets to fancy paellas.
#1 Signature Seafood

One of the town’s most popular dishes is wild-caught Fernandina shrimp, served at places like Timoti’s Seafood Shak and Atlantic Seafood Bait and Tackle. Another local favorite is Minorcan clam chowder, a spicy tomato-based soup made with clams from St. Augustine and flavored with the local datil pepper. This chowder originated with Minorcan settlers who blended Mediterranean cooking with local ingredients. You can also try Bahamian Fish Chowder at Salt Life Food Shack or Cedar Teriyaki Salmon at The Boat House.
