World Water Day
Coming Together for H20
World Water Day was created in 1993 to spread awareness about the state of assessable, clean water throughout the world. Each year on March 22, creative minds come together worldwide to gauge and implement solutions to bring clean water to people that lack this vital life source. At Timoti's we know the importance of water through not only our faucets, but the wide oceans that provide the food we prepare daily for our customers.
As of today, 2.1 billion people live without safe drinking water at home and unable to access clean water. It has also been recorded that 80 percent of wastewater generated by society flows back into the ecosystem without being treated or reused. According to this year's theme, 'Nature for Water,' we must protect the nature that surrounds us in order to better protect our H20. This can work to rebalance the natural water cycle and improve human health where the water is unsafe. Solutions underway include planting forests, reconnecting rivers and restoring wetlands.
